IN THE BEGINNING
The family home, in Hastings Hill, Sunderland, always bubbled with life, mainly due to the antics of Gill, Alison and Jeff.
But there was a special time every day when the boisterous noise became a hushed buzz of excitement.
This was right before bedtime, when Joseph would settle down and tell his children a bedtime story:
a Wizard Beano adventure!
The family’s house had a very important feature that made it particularly special. At the bottom of the garden stood a knarled and bumpy cherry tree. Within the tree was a hollow, cleverly fashioned into a comfortable, two-storey home. This was where Wizard Beano lived!
Joe created magical adventures for his family and now they want to pass his stories down to you and your family.

Meet Joe Fowler, creator of Wizard Beano.
He has kindly allowed me to share the Wizard Beano character that has become part of the family, over the last 60 years.
It’s going to be my pleasure to continue bring his adventures to life, for your children and introduce you to some more exciting places in the North East.
